Elizarovskaya subway station is opened as of December 29, 2016 with new interior featuring the cruiser Aurora.
As we wrote, Elizarovskaya was closed in February this year for repair and a few additional bus routes were introduced for passengers to get to other stations Lomonosovskaya and Alexandra Nevskogo. All these new lines are now withdrawn.
The area around Elizarovskaya is not of great tourist importance, but has hotels and the biggest market for books and souvenirs in the city known as Krupskaya named after Vladimir Lenin’s wife Nadezhda Krupskaya. It’s a good place for those who would like to see how St. Petersburg residents live beyond the downtown but without the need to spend much time to go as the station is just a four minutes ride away from the city’s center which makes hotels here rather attractive and, we think, underestimated.
Also it’s an industrial area with a lot of plants and factories built in the XIX-XXth centuries and still on line which maybe of interest to those who love picturesque industrial photos.
