Hermitage Tickets Got More Expensive

The Winter Palace

The Hermitage museum announced that the price for general admission will increase from 700 to 800 rubles for visiting the Main Complex and some of the museum’s branches beginning February 4, a 14.2 percent increase. The increase concerns all visitors except the citizens of Russia and Belarus and those eligible for free admission regardless of nationality.

There are two types of tickets to the Hermitage:
— for full price of 800 rubles;
— discounted tickets for 400 rubles for Russians and Belorussians.

The full price tickets will cost 800 rubles as of February 4, 2020, the museum said in a statement. The ticket gives a right to visit within one day:
— the Main Complex (the Winter Palace and other adjoining buildings);
— the Menshikov Palace;
— the Left Wing of the General Staff;
— the Museum of the Imperial Porcelain Factory;
— the Winter Palace of Peter the Great.

Though, seeing all this during a day is hardly possible, of course.

Don’t forget that there are days of free visits to the museum:

every third Thursday of a month;
— December 7, the birthday of the Hermitage;
— May 18, the International Museum Day.
