There are various options to get to the stadium of St. Petersburg (also known as the Krestovsky stadium or Gazprom Arena, or Zenit Arena) from the city’s downtown, the Moskovsky vokzal railway station (Moscow station on Google maps) and St. Petersburg Pulkovo airport. We list all of them with their pros and contras and recommend the most convenient ones.
The page has been updated in June 2021.
Address of the Saint Petersburg Stadium is Futbol’naya Alleya, 1 (in Russian it’s Футбольная аллея, 1)
Subway Routes To The Krestovsky Stadium
See the subway scheme here.
The nearest subway station to the Saint Petersburg stadium is Zenit (Зенит) (Green line on the subway scheme) opened in May 2018. It’s not just close, it can be said it’s adjacent to the venue. A walk from the station to your seat at the arena takes 15-20 minutes including the time needed for passing through security control.
The station will definitely be overcrowded on game days with a lot of fans behaving loudly and, perhaps, far from being sober. The station is rather small, so for those who don’t like hustle and bustle, or families with kids, we’d recommend another option.
One more menus here is that you’ll not see the beautiful Krestovsky island and other surroundings.
Krestovsky island (Крестовский остров) (Violet line on the subway scheme) subway station had been the general station for football fans before Zenit was built. It’s a 25-minute-walk away from the stadium. Finding the way is simple. The station has the only exit. Upon leaving the station you will see an entrance to a park. Come into the park, you will see a long straight alley (Batareynaya Doroga) leading all the way to the stadium, which is seen from the distance. With passing security control and getting to your seat, the way from Krestovsky island station will take about 40 minutes.
*Krestovsky island is indicated as Krestovsky ostrov on Google maps.
A special free ecotransport delivery service will be organized from the entrance to the park to the square before the stadium for disabled people.
What are pluses here? First of all, you are likely to escape big crowds. Secondly, you can have a walk and fun in the park where various entertainments are provided, including an amusement park Divo Ostrov, the biggest in Russia.
The minus here is that despite the fact of the absence of hustle and bustle, there will be a lot of people here anyway. The station might be overcrowded a little, but the long way to the arena will dissolve human traffic.
Begovaya (Беговая) subway station (Green line) is the next station after Novokrestovskaya. It’s located within a 30-minute walk from the stadium (control procedures not included). Getting from Begovaya subway station to the Saint Petersburg arena is simple. Upon leaving the station, you go along the Savushkina street (Ulitsa Savushkina) to the Yachtennaya street (Yakhtennaya Ulitsa), and go along the Yachtennaya to the Yachtennyy bridge (Yakhtennyy Most). Then go via bridge to the stadium.
Pluses here:
— no crowd at the station and on the way to the stadium;
— a walk along the Yachtennyy bridge gives nice views of the Gulf of Finland and the highest building in Europe, a headquarter of Gazprom, named the «Lakhta Center».
