Pierre Richard Seemed To Be Unhappy in St. Petersburg

Pierre Richard

In late February, a world-known French comic Pierre Richard visited St. Petersburg while being on his all-Russia tour to perform in his one-man show Pierre Richard III.

As Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper reported, Mr Richard was very tired after visiting Moscow and other cities which resulted in reduced enthusiasm about coming to St. Petersburg. The comic was nervous and angry, told the newspaper. After arriving to a hotel and coming across a group of fifteen fans, Mr Richard immediately rushed to an elevator, speaking angrily to his bodyguards and other staff. Even greetings in French spoken by fans didn’t help.

After the finish of the show which lasted one hour and a half, Mr Richard is reported to have harshly surprised the public by his attention to flowers and gifts which he accepted “as rubbish” and “left on the scene”. For reasons which remained unknown the French comedian cancelled a press-conference in St. Petersburg and a concert in a city of Tver which was postponed to October.

The only moment when the actor seemed to be happy happened at Pulkovo airport, the final point of Mr Richard’s visit to Russia.

Another interesting fact, picked up by a LifeNews TV station, was that the comedian didn’t get out of a car when observing the city on an overview excursion. It must have been too cold for him, though this February seemed to have hit a temperature record. The best time to visit St. Petersburg is from late May to early September. As the Telegraph Travel recommends, the best month is June.
