You can pay a quarter less for a travel between St. Petersburg and Helsinki if your trip falls between mid-April and early June and up to 14% less if you travel between mid-April and late October. What you must do is choose the Allegro train and right days of departure.
Russian Railways operating the Allegro train announced about the introduction of significant discounts for the rail journey.
Two types of discounts are available.
The 25% discount is applied to trips with departures from Friday to Sunday in the period from April 16 to June 3. The first class tickets cost 60.2 euro (instead of 74.3), the second class’s cost 29 (instead of 39).
The 12-14% discount is applied to trips with departures from Monday to Thursday in the period of April 16 to October 27. The first class tickets cost 102.5 and 116.5 euro (instead of 116.5 and 130.6), the second class’s cost 59 and 69 euro (instead of 69 and 79).
No any special conditions for getting the discounts are indicated in the announcement, neither the limited number of discounted tickets was mentioned, but it’s recommended to book in advance. In Russia you can purchase a railway ticket 60 days prior to a trip.
Discounted tickets are available at ticket offices, travel agencies and accessible through the website of the Russian railways.
