Welcome to the final stage of the biggest ice hockey tournament in Europe, the Gagarin Cup of the Continental Hockey League (KHL). St. Petersburg is part of the event as the local club as one of the two contenders left to fight for the prize.
SKA defeated Yaroslavl’s Locomotive 4-0 in the previous stage thus demonstrating their overwhelming power. Not surprising, when you have Ilya Kovalchuk and Pavel Datsyuk in the squad.
But the Metallurg from Magnitogorsk doesn’t promise to be a nice breeze from sea. First of all, it’s a defending champion. Secondly, it defeated Kazan’s AK Bars 4-0 just as well SKA won over Locomotive. They are two giants who will fight in St. Petersburg and Magnitogorsk. No matter what the result would be, it will be a show.
Schedule of the Gagarin Cup final games:
April 8. Magnitogorsk 15.00
April 10. Magnitogorsk 17.00
April 12. St. Petersburg 19.30
April 14. St. Petersburg 19.30
The series is held until one of the team has had four wins, so additional games will (surely) follow.
Our strong advice: buy tickets in advance. Right now. Tomorrow you will hardly buy them at normal price.
