The Best April Fool’s Day Trick In St. Petersburg Ever

St. Petersburg taxi company Taxovichkoff, the largest market operator in the city, played a very nice and sophisticated April Fool’s Day trick. On its Facebook page, it announced a launch of new business direction, passenger transportation by road carts, tilt carts and so on. A newly created unit called Karetovichkov (Kareta is a carriage in Russian) claimed it would accept payment by… apples and can also provide additional services such as a silent driver or a Romany’s band for creating musical background.

The ad placed on Facebook read: «We have learned much over the years in our business and are ready now to move on. We concentrated all our competence, technologies and know-hows to start a new, revolutionary, business».

Ok, nothing unusual till now, seems just like an ordinary ad when someone wants to sell you a pup. What’s further? Surprise!

«Welcome! Eco-friendly, stylish retro transport to suit your transport needs and highlight your sophisticated taste:

— carriages of any kind: tarantases, road carts, droshkies, tilt carts;
— payment by apples, sugar or oat;
— additional services: a silent coachman, filling a pipe, accompanying by a dancing bear and Romany singers and musicians!»

Well, absolutely amazing, and, what’s more important, in line with St. Petersburg atmosphere. Yes, you can see real carriages in the summer high season and have a ride or when visiting a museum.

Of course, that’s just a joke, and the page’s followers reacted positively asking if there would be air-conditioning available?

Judging by video below, air-conditioning would hardly be necessary (from The Bedroom key movie by Eldar Ryazanov). By the way. the movie is filmed in St. Petersburg.
