A myriad of big and small Christmas markets are spreading across the city. Nearly every shopping now features a hand-made stock where you can little lovely things from chocolate and tea to towels and cups etc. etc. We give you four addresses of the largest open-air fairs throughout the city and one in a nearby town of Gatchina.
1. Moscow square (Moskovskaya ploshad)
Getting to: Moskovskaya subway station
Date: December 24 – January 8, 12.00 – 20.00
Entertainments: concerts, attractions, exhibitions of ice figures and gingerbread houses.
2. New Holland Island
Getting to: Admiralteyskaya subway station, then going along the Bolshaya Morskaya street, 1.9 km. (http://www.newhollandsp.ru/en/visitors/)

3. Elagin Island
Getting to: Staraya derevnay subway station, then going along the Lipovaya alleya street until the crossing with Primorsky avenue,

January, 13–29, 14:00–19:00
Entertainments: the park is traditionally full of numerous entertainments, including a skate-rink.
Please, mind that entrance costs 100 roubles on holidays and weekends.
4. Pioneer Square
Getting to: Pushkinskaya / Zvenigorodskaya subway stations, then going along Zagorodny avenue for two-three minutes.
Date: December 24 – January 8, 12.00 – 22.00
Entertainments: a concert and game program throughout a day.
5. Gatchina

Entertainments: masterclasses, excursions, concert, a pyrotechnic show on January 4.
