Confederations Cup 2017 Schedule Announced

Australia, New Zealand, Portugal, Russia and the future African Cup winner (to be known in February, 2017) will play their matches in St. Petersburg with the opening played by Russia and New Zealand. The city’s Zenit Arena stadium, that’s still under construction, will also host the final match.

The Confederations Cup 2017 qualification ceremony held in the city of Kazan has brought some surprise and relief to Russian national football team supporters as the teams of the group A are not that big and great. Well, yes, the Portugal are obviously strong, but still can be defeated.

Group A

Group B:

Russia

Germany

Mexico

Chile

Portugal

Australia

New Zealand

the Africa’s best team

The games to be played in St. Petersburg:

1) Russia — New Zealand (the opening), group A. 17 June, 18.00
2) Africa — Australia, group B. 22 June, 18.00
3) New Zealand — Portugal, group A. 24. June, 18.00
4) The final match. 2 July, 21.00

We think that the final game will feature a fight between Germany and Portugal. The both could have met in the Euro 2016 final, but oops.
The 3rd place game will probably see a Spanish-speaking rivalry of Chile and Mexico.

Note that the Russian government set price limits for accommodation during the Cup. And it’s a very idea to book in advance since St. Petersburg is experiencing a tourist boom and the summer 2017 is predicted to break this year’s record in number of tourists. Many operators buy accommodation for their clients in January and Ferbuary, so don’t be late. June and July are the hottest tourists months in the city.
