A Few Notes To The Table With Travel Passes And Card Options
— all these tickets apply only to public transportation. In St. Petersburg, there are also private buses that are marked with «K», for example K-133. At private buses you can pay with the Podorozhnik card as it works as an electronic wallet, which you deposit money on and then pay. — there is a bus routes №200 which goes from the Kirovskiy zavod subway station to the township of Lomonosov via Peterhof. That’s a very long and inconvenient way to get to Peterhof, but we know from your questions that you use it. For those who have a lot of time, travel passes can be used on the route. The same is right for buses №186 and №187, which go to the township of Pushkin (the Tsarskoe Selo), though not very close to the Catherine Palace, and №101 and №101A to Kronstadt;
— towns of Gatchina, Vyborg, Ivangorod, Tikhvin, Staraya Ladoga, Priozersk are in the Leningrad region. St. Petersburg’s travel cards cannot be used on these routes.
— all the tickets can be purchased at ticket offices at subway stations; they are not sold at railway stations and airport Pulkovo.
— the best options for travelers: either a time-limited travel pass of one to seven days long or the Podorozhnik card. Depends on your travel plans and whether you are going to use private buses; if no, then just buy a time-limited pass and go.
