St. Petersburg is steeping into spirits of festivities. We have made up a shortlist of all major St. Petersburg’s markets selling handmade arts and crafts, Christmas one-off lovely things, wooden toys, confectionery, and pouring mulled wine.
That’s a COVID epoch, which we hope will become the COVID epoch, so that’s the list is short unlike in the previous times. Just to remind you, all eateries are closed from December 30 till January 3 (though they can sell food to go), all entertainments, excepts cinemas, are closed from December 30 till January 10, i. e. for the whole holiday season the New Year’s holidays begin on December 31 and last to January 10.

Christmas Bazaar In The «Gallery» Mall Till January 10
«Gallery» («Galereya») is the biggest mall in the city center located just in the very downtown, a few meters from the Nevsky avenue, the main tourist street, and close to the Moskovsky railway station, where the trains to Moscow, including Sapsan, depart from. The «Gallery»’s area is an advantage. The territory of the Southern atrium allows to accommodate one of the largest indoor markets in the city let alone it provides a great opportunity for shopping, a food court, and a food hall.
The Christmas and New Year market features clothes, toys, culinary items, cute things in a by-babushka-style, and a lot of other stuff a typical market can offer.

City Christmas Market On Manezhnaya Square till January 10
This is the official city market with 60 stalls featuring handmade and industrially-produced goods from St. Petersburg and other regions of Russia, including Siberia. Souvenirs, gifts, sweets, pastries, mittens, socks, figurines made of clay and metal, and jewelry are on offer.
There are is a bonus, besides the location: a food court that will work even during a partial lockdown December 30 — January 3. All traditional features like an ice rink, amusement rides, and live music performance were forbidden this season due to the coronavirus restrictions.

Art Market On Yelagin Islan till January 10
The market on Yelagin island has significant differences from its competitors. Firstly, it takes longer to get to it than anywhere else. Secondly, a lot of activities are held on Yelagin island during the holidays. At last, it is a beautiful place even without any entertainment, a lot of people come here just to walk. Last but not least, it’s mainly dedicated to souvenirs and confectioneries. And it’s not daily unlike the others, so pay attention to the schedule.

Market At Sevkabel Port till January 10
A market of stylish goods from Russian designers and brands. A lot of nice stuff fit to fill your room and make it cozier. Toys, books, T-shirts, candles, aroma lamps, organic cosmetics, and, of course, Christmas-related crafts. Packaging service, music performance by DJs, and a food court are available.

New Year Market At Moskovsky Store Till January 15
The Moskovsky is one of the most luxurious stores in St. Petersburg, packed with premium brands. The «menu» here is focused on New Year’s theme, from handmade Christmas baubles and candles to gifts and garlands. This season’s themes are astrology and astronomy, so the interior is filled with stars and planets as well as mystic signs. Toys for your Christmas tree come from brands like Goodwill, SHISHI, Sass & Belle, Komozja, etc.
A lot of luxury food with a focus on seafood (cariar, oysters, crabs, shrimps) and beverages are also in store to spend time cheerfully in these hard times.

New Year Markets At Krupskaya Flea Market Till January 10
Krupskaya is a year-round flea book market hosted in a very interesting building of the constructivist architecture style also packed with souvenir and music shops. An excursion to old times with vinyl records and table games played a few decades ago. Now New Year and Christmas things, as well as festival’s atmosphere, were added. What differs Krupskaya from many other markets are rather low prices and the possibility to discuss the latest developments in the contemporary philosophy with a seller.
