SKOL Airlines has launched direct flights from St. Petersburg to the city of Pskov, the capital of the Pskov region, and the city of Petrozavodsk, the capital of the Republic Karelia. Fares are several times higher than by alternatives, coach and rail, but travel time is just one hour.
The flights have started on November 5 from St. Petersburg Pulkovo (LED) airport to Pskov airport (PKV) and Petrozavodsk airport (PES) five times a week on workdays.
The routes will be served by Czech-designed and Russia-manufactured L-410 in its 16-seat L 410UVP-E20 version.

Carry-on bags of up to 5 kg and luggage of up to 10 kg are included in the fare.
Alternatives are cheaper, though take much more time.
Pskov can be achieved by minibus for 700 rubles, by coach for 500 rubles, and by train for 461 to 822 rubles depending on the class of service and date of departure.
Travel by bus will take nearly five hours, by train Lastochka three hours with a very flexible schedule in both cases as departures are available throughout the day.
A bus trip to Petrozavodsk will cost from 540 rubles and will take seven hours, a night train will set you back from 1184 rubles.
