New Year 2017

The first year of the St. Petersburg Travel Guide’s life (which, in fact, expires only on January 15, but shhhh) proved to be exciting as many of you asked us and we were ready to help with a piece of advice. And your readership was encouraging as well. There is more content to come in 2017!

While Russia is celebrating the New Year’s arrival and gets ready to buzz till January 9, we are not ready to stop, so the first news of 2017 comes already tomorrow. As you could notice we have strongly intensified our news coverage to give you not only useful tourist information, but also a taste of the city, the feel of the local life, what the residents are talking, crying and joking about.

Next year you will see some interesing projects to be launched on our website.

In 2016, many questions concerned a trip to the island of Valaam. We’re going to deepen our coverage here to provide you with more details. In a few days, we will publish information on the start of navigation for Valaam in May and fares to get there.

The year 2017 is a centenary of the Russian (Bolsheviks) Revolution which significantly changed the world for the whole XXth century. St. Petersburg (then Petrograd) was the main stage for the Revolution with the Winter Palace and the Neva river as the epicenter. We will publish photos of signs, buildings and places connected with this event and the life of main actor such as Vladimir Lenin.

You will also get more about the architecture of St. Petersburg, walking routes off beaten tourist paths, more museums, hotels and other entertainments.

Our another project is a series of photos of old-fashioned Soviet-produced cars that are not being produced any more, but still exist in the streets of St. Petersburg.

We wouldn’t miss the most important event, which is of course the FIFA Confederations Cup 2017.

This all is coming soon. Don’t hesitate to drop us a line about what you would like to read about and see at the St. Petersburg Travel Guide.
Read us, follow us, visit us!

See you in 2017. Tomorrow 🙂

Best regards,
St. Petersburg Travel Guide team
