An exclusive ride on a carriage or a sleigh horse has been recently resumed in the Alexandrovsky park of the Tsarskoe Selo museum complex. An Emperor-style turnout is accessible now for any guest for an hour or half an hour throughout the year both for individual tourists or groups.
A town of Pushkin used to be called Tsarskoe Selo (The Tzar’s village), now Tsarskoe Selo is the name of a museum complex encompassing the Catherine palace, the Catherine park, the Alexandrovsky park, the Babolovsky park and some other museums, including the Museum of a court carriage.
In the pre-1917 times, Tsarskoe Selo had served as a residence of the Russian Imperial family till the ruling Romanovs family’s monarchy fell a century ago. A lot of imperial carriages were left, and many vehicles have been produced and added to the collection since then to be used as scenery, etc.
In late 2018, the City Horse Center signed an exclusive agreement with the Tsarskoe Selo museum to organize carriage and sleigh rides in the Alexandrovsky park, a picturesque area containing a lot of magnificent buildings and paths. The Alexandrovsky park is just one minute walk from the Catherine palace and stops of marshrutkas and buses from St. Petersburg to Tsarskoe Selo.
The sleigh is pulled by a pair of managed horses.
