Peterhof Fountains Technical Opening Date 2020 Announced

Samson fountain in Peterhof

The date of the start of technical operation of the Peterhof’s fountains is 25 April 2020. The day of an official opening is on 16 May. Time what the opening ceremony will take place, will be further announced by the museum.

The Peterhof museum has two dates of fountains opening. In late April, the fountains are being put into test operation, and from this on you can enjoy yourself with them. The first big wave of visitors flows in the museum in the first half of May during long holidays.

We visited the Peterhof complex in that time and can say that an ordinary visit in May doesn’t differ from one in June, with the fact that the fountains are not officially opened making no any difference, though with fewer visitors (which is a plus).

Another date is the official opening ceremony, The Spring Fountains Festival, which is usually being celebrated with a big show and concerts. It’s worth visiting for itself let alone the attractions, of course.

As these two dates change depending on a concrete year, you can come across wrong information about the opening date of the fountain season at Peterhof. Just follow our blog and our social media to keep yourself informed.
