Important Things To Keep In Mind For Cruise Passengers
The schedule of cruise ships 2020 is here.
Cruise ships calling to St. Petersburg moor at three different places, not only at a specialized cruise port:
— the Marine Facade, that specialized cruise port with seven terminals. It’s indicated as MB in the file;
— the pier at the Leytenanta Shmidta embankment (in Russian it’s «набережная Лейтенанта Шмидта»), in front of the building №39. It’s indicated as LSE in the file;
— the pier at the English embankment (in Russian it’s «Английская набережная»), in front of the building №56. It’s indicated as EE in the file;
The names of the embankments are given as they are in the Google Map of St. Petersburg.
Look at the map below to see how they are all located regarding the Hermitage, which is in the very city center.

Why It’s Important To Know Your Cruise Terminal / Pier In St. Petersburg
As you see from the map above, the pier at the embankments are located in the very city center, which impacts your logistics and timing. The Marine Facade is a bit distant, which means you need a taxi ride to the center or Primorskaya subway station or a bus travel to the subway station.
But there is more to it than just logistics and expenses for it. From board of a ship at any of the embankments, you are able to watch the Blagoveshchenskiy bridge being raised, which is very convenient. Or you will need just a short walk to see more drawbridges raised as the top observing spots are located very close by. Drop us a line in the comment section under the post if you need geotagged best spots.
Though, keep in mind that when bridges are raised, you will have to wait a couple of hours to get to the opposite shore. So, watch the show of the raising bridges from the shore where your ship is.
