Train Tickets From Helsinki To St. Petersburg With Discounts Up To 64 Percent


Allegro train

Russian Railways has announced marketing campaigns for two Russia-bound trains from Finland — Allegro and Leo Tolstoy. With advance purchase, you can save up to 64 percent of the initial price on certain days, thus turning the railway operator into a low-cost carrier.

There are two trains in Finland — Russian railway passenger transportation:

— Allegro with four departures in both directions from morning to evening. It arrives at the Finlyandskiy vokzal railway station in St. Petersburg.
Travel time is 3h 27m;

— Leo Tolstoy from Helsinki to Moscow via St. Petersburg. It arrives early on the morning at the Ladozhskiy vokzal railway station one time a day on the Moscow — Helsinki route and in late night on the way back. It goes daily in summer period and six times a week (except Saturday) during the rest of year.
Travel time is 7h 29m or 6h 34m.

Before we go to figures, two warnings and one note:

— neither of the trains deals with e-visas to St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region. If you come to Russia with this type of visa, you must go through one the border crossings listed here. If you go by train with an e-visa to St. Petersburg, you will be denied access to Russia;

— there are some (though not crucial and not numerous) terms and conditions on the discounts, look into them before purchase to check out if they may concern your trip;

— St. Petersburg Pulkovo airport is now enjoying with the seventh freedom and enhanced attention from low-cost airlines, which are going to offer you cheap options to get to St. Petersburg from European countries.

Discounts For Allegro Train 2020

The discounts are given for trips on Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday provided you have bought tickets no later than a certain number of days before departure.

Trips must be taken in period from March 29 to May 31, 2020.
